Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has told off his nominated colleague Gloria Orwoba over a gender debate in the Senate during Governor Kawira Mwangaza's impeachment motion.
Khalwale chided Orwoba, saying she was trying to school him on matters of gender.
"I know that she has promised to school me on matters of gender, really? I have many children, the majority of them are girls, I have more than one wife, I know matters of gender, she can't school me," he said.
Khalwale further insisted that Orwoba must apologise to him.
"You have to apologise to the bullfighter of Kakamega," he said.
Orwoba had earlier raised issues over the number of women proposed in the Senate committee delegated to decide the fate of the Meru governor.
"A committee of eleven people who will decide the fate of a woman governor has only three women, I think it was a bit unfair that they did not put into perspective to have more women in the committee," she said.
The three women are senators Agnes Kavindu (Machakos), Esther Okenyuri (nominated) and Peris Tobiko (nominated)
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna said the committee proposed will focus on the allegations made against Mwangaza and nothing else.
"In this particular question, we are supposed to be blind, justice is blind, we do not see colour, gender or ethnicity," he said.
