Detectives on Wednesday evening arrested two robbery suspects in Embu town.

The two, Benard Fundi and Risper Wambui, are believed to be behind the spate of armed robberies reported in Embu, Kirinyaga and Tharaka Nithi counties in the recent past.

DCI said the detectives recovered crucial exhibits related to various robbery incidents in Kigumo, Runyenjes and Kiritiri.

"Crude weapons including machetes, swords and metal cutters were also recovered in a getaway vehicle used by the suspects," the Directorate said.

Two other robbery with violence suspects were also arrested in Meru county.

The manhunt for the suspects responsible for robbery incidents reported in the county continues.
