He appeared in court as a witness for Governor Ahmed Abdullahi following a petition filed by Hassan Mohamed who has challenged his win.

Dahiye in his testimony accused Hassan of an election offence.

The offence he said came about when Hassan claimed to have apprehended a lorry ferrying election materials and obstructed an IEBC driver and official from carrying out their duties.

The witness in his affidavit claims that Hassan mobilized his supporters to obstruct the road and climb onto the lorry on allegations that the lorry was being used to stuff ballots for onward transmission to Wajir west constituency.

Another witness testified saying no voter was sent away or denied the right to vote.

He said the manual register was not deployed in the area. Voters, he said, were identified using the KIEMS kit.

The election he said was conducted in a free and fair manner and that he did not witness any election malpractices at his station.

Salat was an agent placed at Jigjiga primary school polling station.

In the case, Hassan Mohamed has asked the High court to nullify Abdullahi's win.

He says he was not validly elected as governor for Wajir county and that the IEBC did not put in mechanisms to ensure that the voters were biometrically identified before being allowed to vote for candidates in a number of polling stations in Wajir county.

He claims there was an exaggeration of voter turnouts, irregular and unlawful assisted voting and unlawful ejection of his agents from several polling stations in Wajir east and Wajir west constituencies.
