Nairobi county Assembly members have approved Governor Johnson Sakaja’s executive cabinet nominees.

The assembly on Thursday gave them a clean bill of health after it was ascertained that all the nominees surpassed the requisite threshold to hold their respective offices.

The report was tabled by Majority Leader Peter Imwatok who moved the motion calling the house to approve all the 10 nominees.

All 10 appeared before the vetting committee on Tuesday where they defended their suitability to serve in the position they were nominated.

While giving their inputs on the floor of the house, the MCAS called on the CECs designate to render their services tirelessly to aid the social economic transformation of the residents.

Imwatok warned the CECs not to develop a don't-care attitude once they assume office.

“This does not mean we have given all nominees an open cheque. They should remember they are working for Nairobi residents,” he said.

The ten nominees include Stephen Mwangi (Built Environment and Urban Planning), Michael Gumo (Innovation and Digital Economy), Brian Mulama (Talent, Skills Development and Care), Patrick Mbogo (Mobility and Works) and Charles Kerich (Finance and Economic Affairs).

Others are Ibrahim Auma Nyangoya (Boroughs Administration and Personnel), Rosemary Kariuki (Business and Hustler Opportunities), Maureen Njeri (Green Nairobi – Environment, Water, Food and Agriculture), Anastasia Nyalita (Health, Wellness and Nutrition) and Suzanne Silantoi (Inclusivity, Public Participation, and Customer Service).

The team is now set to be sworn in any day in the presence of Governor Sakaja.
