The inspection of projects comes in the wake of strong sentiments that MPs ought to do project due diligence on the ground to prevent theft of public resources.

Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia-Transport (LAPSSET) Corridor project, also known as the Lamu corridor is a transport and infrastructure project in Kenya that when complete, will be the country's second transport corridor.

Kenya's other transport corridor is the Mombasa - Uganda transport corridor that passes through Nairobi and much of the Northern Rift.

On Saturday, Mudavadi will be the guest of honour at the annual, world-renown, Lamu Cultural Festival.

He will then hold meetings with local leaders on Sunday before departing back to Nairobi.
