He is the person we are looking up to, to steer the party and give us direction.
So, people should not push him to resign because that is limiting his constitutional rights.
It's within his rights to associate with or belong to any political association.
But if our party leader quits now without a proper transition plan, we will be affected.
There is no doubt about that.
Why should he be pushed to exit politics? Does Raila Odinga get a pension? If he does, why is Uhuru being discriminated against?
They should leave alone our party leader.
If Uhuru leaves us abruptly, there will be a problem. Just like any other company or institution, there must be a transition plan.
He needs to leave someone to succeed him if that is what it will take him to get his pension.
Jubilee is a big party that has structures, including leadership structures.
If our party leader is to leave, then the relevant party organs will convene and get a suitable person to replace him.
There shouldn't be a leadership vacuum because that will really affect us.
And his departure will not only affect Jubilee Party but also Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition.
Remember, he is the chairman of the Azimio Council.
But, again, our party leader is a gentleman and committed to the well-being of the party and coalition.
He can decide to forgo his pension or any benefits for now and remain our leader.
However, if Raila (ODM party leader) and Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper leader) are getting their pensions and other benefits due to them, then Uhuru should not be denied because that amounts to discrimination.
There should be no discrimination. Payment of benefits should not be tied to the political goodwill of those in power. It should be paid as per the law.
So, in a nutshell, Uhuru's exit without proper plans will not be good for the party. We still need him to give us direction and steer us to the next level.
We are just from the general election and this is the most critical time for him to give proper guidance to the party
