Four teenagers and two adults linked to city mugging cases have been detained for 14 days as police officers continue to secure the city.
The respondents were arraigned at Kibera law court, where police inspector Jacob Ndunda filed an application seeking to detain them further for more investigations.
Court heard that the six suspects were dangerous and were behind the rampant theft and robbery cases in the capital.
“The respondents were arrested on November 18, and two guns were recovered. They are behind the rampant robbery cases within the capital,” Ndunda told the court.
He told the court that they also received multiple complaints from other police stations where the suspects have been under their radar.
“We received other related complaints from DCI Langata and DCI Kilimani where some of the suspects have been widely mentioned and others captured on CCTV cameras,” he said.
Court heard that during the arrest some homemade guns were also recovered and are yet to be taken for ballistic examinations.
Ndunda told the court some victims are yet to record statements and the complainant has positively identified some of the suspects in court.
“The suspected mobile phones and motorcycle boxer made, red in color and it was also recovered from their suspects,” he said.
