Tenants in a building in Ruiru town in Kiambu were on Sunday forced to evacuate their items as the building had started developing cracks.

The four top floors of the seven-storey building were added way after the initial three were constructed.

Residents said the building that is still under construction was declared unsafe several times after developing cracks on its walls but nothing was done regarding the matter.

Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi led the evacuation operations from the building.
