Defence CS Aden Duale has said he will look into Kenya Defence Force recruitment process, which he said has been marred with corruption.
Speaking on Wednesday during a TV interview, Duale said they will not allow lack of integrity in KDF.
"When I was before Parliament, I heard severally how the KDF recruitment has been marred with corruption and many other things. I want to assure the people of Kenya that we are going to re-look the recruitment criteria," he said.
Duale was answering a question on whether there will be another KDF recruitment soon.
He said many have been taken to court for recruiting people illegally into the KDF and they want to deal those cases first.
"KDF is very serious when it comes to integrity, ethics and discipline. There are a number cases that have been concluded and others pending. We have to clear all of them because we won't allow corruption to thrive in KDF," he said.
Earlier, Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot asked President William Ruto to make it easier for Kenyans to join KDF.
The Senate Majority Leader said corrupt individuals in the army have made it hard Kenyans join KDF through the right channels.
“I want to ask Duale to ensure that every time there is employment anywhere in the army the hustlers should get those positions,” he said.
