Raila Odinga's daughter, Winnie, believes the Azimio La Umoja Coalition campaigns were the best and most successful.

Speaking on Tuesday during an interview at a local TV station, Winnie said she had no doubts that his father who was Azimio's Presidential candidate led a good campaign.

"There is a difference between campaign and election day. The Azimio Campaign was absolutely successful," she said.

Winnie had been part of the Azimio campaign trail before the August polls.

She never shied away from supporting and campaigning for her beloved father, whether on the ground or on social media.

Winnie used her social media handles to urge her followers and the youth to vote for her father.

"The Firimbi movement is on. Get a #BlueFirimbi today, usiachwe behind. Let’s whistle this nation Blue," read one of her posts on social media.

She also ran an advertisement that urged the youth to vote for her father.

Winnie also went for interviews and shared them on social media asking citizens to vote for her father.

However, Winnie, who is eying the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP seat, said issues that happened on the election day were not her cup of tea.

She refused to answer a question asked on what happened on August 9, 2022 (election day), if Azimio ran the best campaigns.

"The election day is not a question for me to answer. Ask (Wafula) Chebukati," Winnie said.

On August 15, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati declared William Ruto the President-elect after he defeated Raila and two other candidates in the August 9 poll.

Ruto garnered 7.1 million votes, while Raila Odinga garnered 6.9 million votes.

However, his fierce competitor Raila of the Azimio la Umoja One coalition rejected the results terming them "null and void" and promised a bruising battle at the Supreme Court.

He filed a petition at the Supreme Court challenging  Ruto’s win but the petition was dismissed.

The Supreme Court confirmed Ruto's victory in the August 9 election.

Reading the verdict of the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Martha Koome said Ruto garnered 50 per cent plus one vote cast required for one to be announced the winner.

Raila Odinga who was Azimio's Presidential candidate said last month that the possibility of death and bloodshed from post-election violence and fear of International Criminal Court (ICC) charges compelled him to accept Ruto’s disputed win.
