Court granted the application and ordered the duo to be detained at Kitengela police station pending arraignment after the ten days.

The suspects were arrested at Club Zero 15 in Kitui County on Saturday.

They are said to have fled the scene of crime after Nginga allegedly stabbed Hussein Fuad Abdow to death at his club located in Kitengela's G26 area on Wednesday.

Police said Mwaniki, the main suspect, switched off his phone before changing the SIM card to escape police dragnet.

Police said the two were smoked from the club where they were found clubbing at around 11.00pm.

It is said they were planning to escape to the neighbouring country, Somalia, before they were arrested.

"The two were planning to escape to Somalia on Sunday," a DCI detective told the Star.

Mwaniki is suspected to have murdered the student over the woman, Osman, who doubled to be her employee, bar attendant, and girl friend.

It is said that the deceased was seeing the woman at the club, but her employer wasn't happy.

Police said the deceased found Mwaniki at the club on Wednesday leading to a confrontation.

Revellers rushed the deceased to Kitengela Level 4 subcounty hospital where he was pronounced dead. Medics at the facility informed police about the man's death.

Senior officers at Kitengela police station visited the hospital and confirmed the death.

The body was moved to the hospital's mortuary where an autopsy was conducted on it on Thursday.

He was buried the same day according to the Islamic culture.
