Ruto deploys Gachagua, Mudavadi to distribute relief food

President William Ruto has deployed the cabinet including his deputy Rigathi Gachagua and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi to oversee the distribution of relief food.

President Ruto is also expected to make an international appeal for aid when he launches the exercise to distribute foods stuffs in Turkana on Saturday.

In the Saturday's schedule seen by the Star, the President will also personally supervise the distribution exercise in select regions in select regions in Turkana.

First lady Rachael Ruto has also been lined up to take charge of the government’s food handover exercise within Nairobi county.

The move comes as the government scales up mitigation measures to save at least 4.5 million Kenyans affected by the ravaging drought.

The situation has pushed to limits the lives of Kenyans in at least 23 counties across the country.

In the back-to-back program, Mudavadi alongside CS Penina Malonza will be in Machakos.

Roads and Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen will be in various parts of Marsabit.

Gachagua on his part will be in Kajiado County where hunger is threatening wipe out humanity.

Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale is set to launch the program in his home county of Garissa.

Public Service CS Aisha Jumwa will lead the government efforts in Kilifi.

Other CSs in the list are Mithika Linturi (Embu),Salim Mvurya (Taita Taveta), Moses Kuria (Nyeri)  and Alice Wahome (Wajir).

Ruto appears to have igored alles by Azimio leaders including Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka who called for the inclusion of opposition chiefs in distributing relief food.
