Lawyer Miguna Miguna on Friday returned to His ancestral home in Nyando to a low key reception from residents.

Miguna however landed in the lakeside city under tight security seemingly as a precaution after a section of residents had earlier threatened a hostile reception.

The lawyer was received at Kisumu International Airport by former Kisumu senator Fred Outa.

"This is your home, walk freely and do not fear anything, you are the son of the soil. We want to assure you that you are safe here, you don't need any security," Outa said.

After a media briefing, the lawyer drove to Ahero town where his first stop was at the ACK church.

Outa said Miguna arrived safely at the church where he was received warmly.

At the church, Miguna found a section of locals already seated waiting for his arrival.

The congregation had to wait for about 15 minutes for the prayer service to take off.

Miguna said he was extremely grateful for everyone for welcoming him back home.

He thanked President William Ruto for keeping his word and commitment to the rule of law and obedience to court orders and upholding the Constitution.

He, however, noted that his return home was his right not a privilege.
