Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has affirmed their support to entrepreneurs and business people in their bid to help grow the economy.

Gachagua said President William Ruto's administration is clear that the way to go is to support and facilitate enterprise.

"The government cannot be a stumbling block to investments, to manufacturing, and to enterprises. We must bring to an end bureaucracy and red tape in matters of investments and entrepreneurship," he said.

Bureaucracy is a system of government in which most of the important decisions are taken by state officials rather than by elected representatives.

Gachagua said Ruto has given a policy direction and will convene a meeting with all civil servants at the senior levels to highlight to them in black and white the way forward.

He referred to manufacturers as the drivers of the economy in matters of the creation of employment.

He added that the government was focused on removing all blocks to enhance their production.

"Officers of government, your role will be to support the private sector to enhance investments in this country," he said.

The DP said the civil servants will have to fit quickly with the new administration in order to make work more easier and efficient.

He was speaking on Friday at Movenpick Hotel in Westlands, Nairobi, during the Humanitarian Initiative 2022 which is aimed at helping Kenyans who are affected by drought.
