Kiambu politician Gladys Chania has paid an emotional tribute to her late husband, George Mwangi.

Chania said even though they had difficult moments, like most families, their love for each surpassed all.

"My husband it has been 24 years since the day we settled together on a Sunday, April 25, 1998. We have grown from two to five. I thank God for the way your care and concern surrounded our family day in and day out," she said.

The Politician's tribute was read by her younger sister, Judy Wanjiku, during Mwangi's burial ceremony at the Mang'u home. She was absent.

Chania promised to honour her husband's wishes, adding that it was difficult to fit into his role.

Reading the tribute, Wanjiku was overcome by tears at one point and had to pause.

She was joined in by other mourners as she resumed the reading.

"I promise to uphold all your wishes, more to see the success of your children. Rest In Peace my love, the father to my children," the eulogy read.

The body of Mwangi was found dumped in Kieni forest, Kiambu county on Wednesday, October 12.

The postmortem on the deceased was conducted on October 21, at Kenyatta University funeral home and the cause of death was severe head injury due to blunt force trauma.

Chania is the main suspect and is out on a bond of Sh1 million.
