Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said that the Azimio coalition will announce shadow Cabinet secretaries to hold the government to account.

Kalonzo said they will make the announcement once their leader Raila Odinga jets back into the country from his foreign tour in India.

He stated that the cabinet will have a whole budget which they will present.

"We have only this country to call home, we have nowhere else to go. We must have each others back and make sure the government delivers to the people," Kalonzo said.

He noted that the coalition will play its opposition role to the best of its ability.

“We want to ask the President not to get angry when we do our duty.”

Kalonzo was speaking at the burial ceremony of the late Stanley Aluma Omollo, the father of Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma, on Saturday.

On May 16, Raila had laid out what his cabinet would look like if he was elected the fifth president of Kenya.

Martha Karua would have been the Deputy President, and Justice and Constitutional Affairs CS.

Kalonzo had been given the position of Chief Cabinet Secretary in the cabinet.

Former National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende would have been the Senate Speaker, while former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya would be the National Treasury CS.

Peter Munya would have retained his slot as Agriculture CS but have an additional role as Chairperson of the Kenya Productive Sector.

Former Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho would be Lands CS and part of his responsibilities would be to fight historical land injustices at the Coast and across the country.
