Chief Justice Martha Koome on Wednesday presided over the oath-taking ceremony of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Amin Mohammed.
He officially takes over from former DCI George Kinoti.
The DCI was joined by his sons during the ceremony.
Koome said the DCI is a core component of the National Council on the Administration of Justice (NCAJ) and a pivotal partner in the criminal justice system.

Koome said courts rely on investigations conducted by the Directorate.
She urged him to work closely with other players in the NCAJ that brings together state and non-state actors from the justice sector in fulfilling his mandate.
