His response followed a question by National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi who raised the issue, seeking to know how he'd protect public property.

The former deputy Prime Minister said he ended up seeking legal redress for the for defamation.

"Mr Chairman, as we speak today, the same property belong to the County Government of Nairobi and we pay rent. I would not be paying rent for a property that is mine."

He added that it was a witch hunt at that time.
