We'll transform Homa Bay to have city face - Ruto

President William Ruto on Sunday said he has plans to work on projects in Homa Bay that will transform it into a modern county. 

Speaking in Homa Bay Town after a church service at the Africa Inland Church, the head of state said it is because he wants the county that boarders Lake Victoria to look like a city.

He noted that the projects will also create employment for the youth.

"We want our youth to get jobs, we must plan our economy that ensures our youth will get jobs, when I came here, I told you I want this Homa Bay to look like a city," Ruto said.

The President added that the government has set aside money that will be used to bring the projects to life.

"We have plans on water distribution and sewage system, we have already set aside Sh2 billion for that work. I want to assure you that water and sewage work we will do in completion," he said. 

Ruto assured Homa Bay residents that bad roads in the county will also be a priority, including the ones that were not complete as the end of former President Uhuru Kenyatta's tenure.

"I want to assure you that the roads that were left hanging will be completed. We will also do a housing programme that will see people get jobs especially those who are professionals.

"I will be back here to start the projects. The plumbers, architectures will have a chance to work and put their skills to work," he said.
