Salary and benefits awaiting Ruto’s Cabinet ministers

Each will earn a salary of Sh924,000 as per the recent gazette.

Upon the approval of the National Assembly, the nominated members to President William Ruto Cabinet are set to enjoy the benefits that come with their dockets.

Each will earn a salary of Sh924,000 as per the recent gazette notice by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).

It is broken down to a basic salary of Sh554,400, a house allowance of Sh200,000 monthly and a monthly market adjustment of Sh169,000.

The CS will also receive medical benefits, which include an annual medical cover for one spouse and up to four children under the age of 25 and are fully dependent on the state officer.

The benefits are broken down to maternity Sh150,000, dental- Sh75,000, optical-Sh75,000, inpatient-Sh 10 million and Outpatient up to Sh300,000. The CS get a daily subsistence allowance for local and international travel as well as personal security.

They are also accorded transport where a CS gets an official car with an engine capacity not exceeding 3000cc.

The cabinet secretaries also get a car loan of up to Sh10 million and a mortgage of up to Sh40 million. In addition to that, the CS has an annual leave allowance of Sh50,000 yearly and Sh20,000 monthly airtime.
