A Kenya Railways train was on Saturday involved in an accident as it headed to Kisumu Railways station.

This is after the front part of the train came off its rails. The accident occurred a few kilometers to the station.

Passengers were forced to highlight from the train after it was stopped.

Motorists plying the Kisumu - Kakamega road were forced to use alternative routes as the train completely blocked the road across.

However there were no casualties.

According to witness, they had a bang and didn't know what had happened only to realise that it was the train.

No vehicle can pass through the Kisumu Kakamega road since the train has blocked the entire highway.
