The National Police Service (NPS) on Thursday participated in the launch of knowledge products for the deaf at Machakos Youth Centre.
The Service was joined by the Deaf Empowerment Kenya (DEK) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
The launch is part of other activities undertaken by the DEK in marking 2022's Deaf Awareness Week.
The year's theme is "Building inclusive communities for all".
The information products have been developed with input from the NPS, the Judiciary, and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
This is in a bid to empower the deaf so that they can interact with, and understand the criminal justice system.
In attendance were representatives from Machakos County Child Welfare Services among other state and non-state partners.
Representatives from the NPS lauded the UNODC, DEK, EU and other partners for the collaboration and support in a cause that affords the deaf access to justice.
