Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya was noticeably missing as Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua flagged off subsidised fertilizer.
But Principal Secretary Francis Owinoo was at the event.
On Wednesday, Gachagua flagged off the first consignment of the Sh3.55b subsidised fertiliser at the Office of the Deputy President
He said the government will supply 1.4 million bags of fertilizers to farmers in the country.
The fertilizers will be available at cereal boards.
Munya was among other CS who publicly took sides and engaged Ruto in the war of words pre–August 9 polls.
As early as 2019, while serving as Trade CS, Munya bashed the Tanga Tanga brigade led by President Ruto for engaging in early 2022 campaigns.
He was defending a directive by former President Uhuru Kenyatta requiring leaders to stop early campaigns.
In May 2022, while in Tharaka Nithi, Munya said that he was appointed to the docket just recently and has managed to bring a number of changes, unlike his predecessors who he said failed farmers across the country.
“Even DP Ruto was the Minister of Agriculture and he did not construct an NCPD for you yet he is busy moving around seeking votes for his August 9 presidential bid," he said.
Munya was however cut shot with pro-Ruto chants during the event.
