President William Ruto will today leave the country for his official visit to the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

The visits comes barely a week after he sworn into office as President.

President Ruto will first proceed to the United Kingdom where he will attend the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II scheduled for Monday.

The Head of state is expected to be hosted for a dinner by King Charles III upon arrival in the United Kingdom.

He will be among 500 foreign dignitaries who will attend the State Funeral.

After the funeral, the President will leave for the United States of America where he will attend the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

He expected to meet President Joe Biden and officials from the American chamber of commerce.

The UNGA meeting will be first to be held in person since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic that discouraged physical interactions.

The UNGA meetings in 202o and 2021 were held virtually.
