UDA nominates office cook, messenger as MCAs

Korir who volunteered to work at the front office desk was nominated to Baringo Assembly.

The United Democratic Party (UDA) has nominated its office employees to a number of county assemblies.

The party nominated five employees among them Everlyn Korir who was a volunteer at the front desk, Lydia Jeptoo an office cook and Evans Kipyegon who served as an office messenger among others.

Korir who had volunteered to work at the front office desk was lucky to be nominated as the MCA to Baringo county assembly.

“It was one of those moments when you are almost finishing school and you have nothing to do. So I decided to join the party and volunteer my services,” she said. 

“It was a surprise when I saw my name. I thank the party officials for trusting me with the position and I promise to deliver for the residents of Baringo."

Kipyegon who started off as a cleaner and later promoted to an office messenger was also nominated to Baringo county assembly.

“I used to do tasks such as delivering letters to the Registrar of Political Parties, purchasing things, and doubled up as a storekeeper,” he said. 

Jeptoo has been nominated to Nandi county assembly while Beatrice Chepkemoi and Noela Omollo to Kericho county Assembly.
