Kenya Kwanza expected to unveil Parliamentary leadership in Naivasha retreat

Kenya Kwanza Alliance is set to unveil its parliamentary leadership on Saturday upon completion of a retreat convened in Naivasha.

The coalition led by President William Ruto will announce who will lead the parliamentary group both at the National Assembly and the Senate.

The leaders will decide on who will take up the positions of the majority leader, deputy majority leader, majority whip and deputy minority whip.

Other positions are the committee heads of select and departmental committees in both houses.

Ruto chaired the meeting accompanied by his Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, ANC leader Musalia Mudavidi, and Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula among other leaders.

Speaking during the Friday meeting, President Ruto said that he will ensure he fulfils all the promises he made in his manifesto.

He urged the leaders to come out in parliament confidently and address issues of concern.

The Azimio la Umoja led by Raila Odinga held a similar meeting on Friday in Mombasa to discuss the way forward for the party and leadership.

However, they did not disclose detailed information on what was discussed during the parliamentary group meeting.

The meeting which began on Friday will end on Saturday evening.

Kenya Kwanza is expected to reveal the leaders chosen by the end of the day.
