The military on Monday conducted its final simulation of Tuesday's swearing-in ceremony of President-elect William Ruto.
Vice chief of defence forces Francis Ogolla and Kenya Army commander Peter Njiru briefly visited the venue to access preparations.
They also conducted a mock handover ceremony as various musicians and members of the clergy invited to perform were also in last-minute preparations at the stadium.
A replica of the goldish ceremonial sword and the Constitution were used during the simulation exercise.
Outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to hand over the two instruments of power to Ruto during the ceremony to be presided over by the Judiciary's chief registrar Anne Amadi and Chief Justice Martha Koome.
Several judicial officials who were present also did similar dry runs.
According to the programme being managed by the Kenya Defence Forces and Statehouse, the President will be the last to arrive at the venue-Moi Sports Centre Kasarani.
Ruto will enter the stadium when invited heads of state have already settled.
Upon arrival, President Uhuru will inspect a guard of honour mounted by the 21st battalion of Kenya Rifles before proceeding to the main dais for the day's ceremony.
“The parade is, however, a formation of the three services of the Kenya Army, Navy and Air force,” a military officer aware of the programme said.
During this time, the parade will remain still until the end of the process when it shall be dismissed by the new commander-in-chief.
The national anthem will also be played when President Uhuru's standard flag is lowered and that of Ruto is hoisted.
