Chief Justice Martha Koome on Friday formally adjourned the presidential petition hearing ahead of Monday's judgment.

Lawyers had three days to make arguments and evidence before the seven-judge bench beginning Wednesday.

On Friday, the Supreme Court had rejoinders by petitioners made their rejoinder mostly based on the scrutiny report of the IEBC portal and re-tallied votes.

The hearing began on Tuesday with a pre-trial conference after the petitioners and respondents finished filing their affidavits by Monday.

Koome thanked those who took part and made sure the proceedings moved smoothly.

She extended her gratitude to the international and local observers who closely followed the proceedings.

She further urged Kenyans to pray for the judges to make their judgments in line with the Constitution.

"We continue to ask like the vice-president has said that you continue to pray for us so that we can render judgment that promotes our Constitution that is anchored in the law, that nurtures our democracy, that brings harmony to our country and everything good stated in our Constitution," Koome said.
