The Judiciary has challenged Kenyans following events of the ongoing presidential petition to state how well they understand the procedure.

In a tweet on Wednesday, prior to the start of oral submissions by the petitioners, the Judiciary asked Kenyans, albeit with a light touch, to explain what was expected on the first day of the proceedings.

"For the ardent followers of @Kenyajudiciary please tell us, where are we on the Presidential Petition schedule? What will the Supreme Court be doing today? (10 marks)," the tweet read.

The text caught the attention of Senior counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi, an outspoken commentator on the presidential petition.

"Very organised. I'm impressed 9/10 (deducted 1 mark because of Smokin's "attack" on Ngatia SC)," the lawyer said in his response.

Hearing of the presidential petition will take three days beginning Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the apex court will listen to oral submissions by lawyers representing the petitioners in the presidential petition.

Main petitioners Raila Odinga and running mate Martha Karua have been allocated three hours to argue their case.

They have also been allowed to be represented by four lawyers in the petition.

All the other petitioners whose petitions were consolidated with Azimio's have been allowed two lawyers each and 30 minutes to submit their arguments.
