Khalwale congratulates Barasa for clinching Kakamega governor seat

Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale has congratulated ODM gubernatorial candidate Fernandes Barasa after he won the Kakamega governor seat.

Khalwale in a tweet celebrated the governor-elect and congratulated ANC's Cleophas Malala for putting up a spirited fight.

"Congratulations Barasa Fernandes for your win and Cleophas Malala for your spirited fight back," Khalwale tweeted.

Barasa garnered 192,929 votes against Malala who got 159,508 votes.

He won in all the constituencies in the southern region and two others in the northern region.

ODM has now won nine of the 12 parliamentary seats and 48 out of the 60 MCA seats in Kakamega.
