A facebook post of outgoing Kakamega Governor Wycliff Oparanya in which he allegedly endorsed UDA's Cleophas Malala has caused mixed reactions.
Oparanya is part of the Azimio la Umoja One coalition which has thrown his weight behind Fernandes Barasa of the ODM party.
However, in a turn out of events, Oparanya in his facebook account at 9:00 am posted a picture of Malala followed by "#VoteCleopphasWakhunguMalalah" .
His facebook page which is verified has 99,000 followers and 140 following.
However, Oparanya has denied the post and claimed his faceboook page has been hacked.
"This is to NOTIFY the general public that my Facebook page has been hacked by agents of doom.IGNORE any post on my Facebook page as we await @DCI_Kenya to handle the matter and restore it," he said on his twitter handle.
This comes on the day when Kakamega residents elect their Governor after IEBC announced the date to conduct the election in the remaining wards, constituencies, and counties.
IEBC postponed the election after the ballot papers' mix-up in Mombasa and Kakamega counties.
The race to succeed Governor Oparanya has attracted seven candidates.
They are Cleophas Malala (ANC), Barasa, Cyrus Jirongo (UDP), Suleiman Sumba (Kanu), Samuel Omukoko (Maendeleo Democratic Party), Michael Osundwa and Austine Opitso (independent).
