A voter has filed a presidential petition at the Supreme Court to challenge the election of Deputy President William Ruto as Kenya's fifth President.

John Njoroge Kamau has listed the four dissenting IEBC commissioners as interested parties in the petition.

These are vice chairperson Juliana Cherera and commissioners Irene Masit, Justus Nyang'aya and Francis Wanderi.

Raila Odinga and Martha Karua, the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition presidential candidate and running mate respectively, have also been listed as interested parties.

IEBC commissioners Abdi Guliye and Boya Molu have also been listed as interested parties in the petition.

Kamau has listed IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, President-elect William Ruto and Deputy President-elect Rigathi Gachagua and the IEBC as respondents.

Kamau's petition came moments after the Azimio team, the main complainant, filed its petition online.

Petitioners have until 2 pm Monday to file their petitions.

Deputy Registrar at Supreme Court Benard Kasavuli says those two are the only received petitions so far.

Another petitioner has been turned away because his documents are incomplete. The name in the petition is Jimi Wajingi.

In his petition, Kamau is seeking an order directing the IEBC to organize and conduct a fresh presidential election.

He is also seeking a declaration that Chebukati committed election irregularities and should be investigated for possible criminal culpability.

He claims Ruto and Gachagua were not validly declared as President and Deputy President.

Kasavuli has, however, said they have noted some issues in Kamau's petition.

He has asked him to avail himself at the Registry to have the issues addressed.

Kasavuli did not disclose what the issues are.
