President-elect William Ruto has lauded the confidence and bold persona of the IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati throughout the electoral process.

Speaking at the Bomas of Kenya where he was handed a victory certificate, Ruto said the IEBC boss had persevered a lot to get Kenya where it is today.

He lauded the IEBC for conducting a free and fair electoral process saying they have done Kenyans justice.

Ruto praised the commission for making the results of the elections open and accessible to Kenyans.

"Chebukati is our hero. Soft spoken but firm," he said.

At the same time, he heaped praise to God following his declaration as the fifth president designate of the Republic of Kenya.

Ruto said they overcame a lot to be where they are today adding that it is prayer that made them to successfully challenge every hurdle.
