Several retail shops closed early across the country ahead of the declaration of presidential results by the IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati at the Bomas Kenya.
Supermarkets such as Naivas, Quickmart and Chandarana were closed by 2 pm over panic in Kondole, Kisumu county.

While some supermarkets like Quickmart were closed by 7 pm. Quickmart said in a statement they closed early to ensure safety of their staff.

“We apologise for any incoviniences caused. Normal branch operations will resume on the 16th Tuesday from 7am,”Quickmart said.
Shopping outlets like Carrefour closed at 5pm on Monday.
