Raila shines in Kiminini constituency

Azimio la Umoja presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga has won in the Kiminini constituency, Transzoia county.

Raila garnered 34,863  votes while his UDA counterpart garnered 20,924 votes.

Roots party George Wajackoyah came in third with 264 votes while David Mwaure of the Agano party managed 113 votes.

The total number of registered voters in Trans Nzoia is 93,240 while those who cast their votes are 56,164.

Rejected votes were 716.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has so far verified results for more than 120 constituencies.

The commission is expected to verify the results of 290 constituencies and diaspora results to announce the president-elect.

The commission is required to announce the winner within seven days from election day.

IEBC is the only body mandated to declare the final presidential tally.
