IEBC receives 99.37 per cent of forms 34A

Chebukati highlighted that the results can only be transmitted once

County returning officers are still transmitting their forms 34A to the National Tallying Centre at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi.

The number of forms 34A submitted as of 2153hrs on August 11 is 45,940 of 46,229, translating to 99.37 per cent.

This is according to data from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

While addressing the media during the official launch of the National Tallying centre on Tuesday, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said they will verify the Form 34A images sent to them together with the original Form 34A forms before the information is made official.

Chebukati also highlighted that the results can only be transmitted once.

"You cannot scan results from a different polling station. Once you scan the final results, no one can scan it again," he said.
