Chris Wamalwa concedes defeat in Trans Nzoia governor race

Trans Nzoia Ford Kenya gubernatorial candidate Chris Wamalwa has conceded defeat.

In a series of tweets, Wamalwa thanked the electorate and his party for the support they accorded him throughout the campaign period. 

The former Kiminini MP further congratulated DAP-K candidate George Natembeya saying he has won the race.

"I wish him well," Wamalwa said.

"I have not been successful in my quest to be the second Governor of our great County. I thank the Almighty God, all my supporters, from both far and near, for their unyielding support. Receive my eternal gratitude," he added.

The former legislator also thanked the people of Kiminini constituency for having elected him for two consecutive terms as their MP.

"My heartfelt gratitude to the party supporters and volunteers who have worked so hard in this campaign," he said.
