Social media platform, Twitter has flagged a tweet by ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna.

Sifuna in the tweet had sent out a table with figures showing that Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate was ahead with a 51.96% lead.

The table indicated that Deputy President William Ruto was trailing at 47.28%.

Upon noticing details of the tweet, the social media platform flagged with a disclaimer, saying that the official results had not been announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

In Kenyan elections, the media and candidates are allowed to do their own tallies.

However, announcing the winner of a presidential election is reserved for the IEBC chairman, and in this case it is Wafula Chebukati.
