Kanini Kega, MC Jessy , Havi concede defeat

Havi, who was seeking to replace Wanyonyi in Westlands, said he was contented with the outcome.

Kieni MP Kanini Kega and  Westlands MP candidate  Nelson Havi are among the candidates who have accepted defeat even before IEBC announced the official results.

Kega who has served for two terms hinted he had lost the parliamentary seat that he was seeking to defend.

"Opening a new chapter, when one door closes another one is opened. Heading to Bomas," he said.

Nelson Havi who was seeking to replace incumbent Tim Wanyonyi in Westlands said he was contented with the outcome.

He commended the incumbent, noting that the majority chose Wanyonyi. 

"We are the minority in the contest for Westlands. The majority chose Timothy Wanyonyi. They duly deserve him in their wisdom or lack of it. On our part, we are contented with the outcome. Congratulations to you my elder brother, Tim Wanyonyi. Serve well."

Havi claims rigging as he concedes to Wanyonyi in Westlands Lawyer Nelson Havi has conceded defeat in the run for the Westlands Parliamentary seat, even as he cites malpractices in the election process.

While tallying of votes is still underway at the Kenya Technical Trainers College (KTTC), Westlands Constituency's  tallying centre,  provisional results from polling stations indicates Tim Wanyonyi is leading with more than 58,000 votes.

His main competitor in the race which has 10 candidates was Havi, who has 17, 000 votes.

The ongoing tallying process is underway with 20 out of 242 polling stations done.

From these, Wanyonyi is ahead with more than 4,000 votes.

Speaking to the Star on telephone, Havi said his agents had been bribed with particular cases being Mountain View and Kangemi wards.

He also cited voter bribery."Everybody has been bought out. I do t believe in playing dirty so I have left it to him. I want to move on," Havi told the Star on phone.

Also, comedian MC Jessy (Jasper Muthomi) has conceded defeat and extended a message of heartfelt congratulations to his opponent Shadrack Mwiti who took an early lead.

"I sincerely thank you so much for the time we have interacted during our campaign time. It has been a great journey. A journey of amazing political adventure. A journey of daring hearts. We will continue to engage as we look forward to Next time," he said.
