Voting is still ongoing at Uhuru Gardens in Mombasa, despite the closing of various polling stations across the country at 6 pm.

IEBC officials at the centre said they followed the law to compensate for the lost time since after they opened the polling station at 10.50 am.

The voting process in some parts of Mombasa County started late despite a large number of voters coming out to exercise their constitutional rights.

Most voters were frustrated by the delays and lack of communication from the IEBC staff and KIEMS kits hitch.

Other voters threatened to go home before casting their ballots.

In Nyali and Kisauni constituencies, voting started on time despite the KIEMS kits' failure.

However, there are few voters at the centre ahead of the closure at 9pm.
