UDA presidential candidate William Ruto now claims his Azimio opponent Raila Odinga is using opinion polls to prepare grounds to reject the election results.

Ruto claimed the Azimio camp already knows they will be defeated on August 9.

"That is why they are publishing opinion polls every other day because they know we will beat them on August 9 and they want to have excuses on refusing the outcome of this election," he said.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Thika on Wednesday, Ruto warned his opponents against organizing demonstrations or swearing themselves in, if Raila loses the polls.

"Thika town was ecstatic. Ignore the fake polls. We will debunk it on August 9," Ruto tweeted after the rally.

He insisted that with or without incitements, Kenyans will honour their democratic right to vote and do so peacefully.

Speaking at the same time, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro reiterated the DP's words saying the Azimio team wants to allege rigging come next week.

"I want to tell the fake pollster, even if you announce the polls on an hourly basis, next week, we are still defeating the old man (Raila)," he said.

Nyoro said in 2017, the opinion polls released showed that Kenyans were in Raila's favour but in the end, President Uhuru Kenyatta won the elections.

Present also were UDA running mate Rigathi Gachagua, Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria among other allied leaders.
