President Uhuru Kenyatta Wednesday continued wooing residents of Nakuru county to throw their support behind Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

On his second day tour of the county, Uhuru sustained his thinly veiled attacks on Deputy President William Ruto whom he accused of advancing divisive and insincere politics in a bid to woo voters.

"We cannot deal with someone who likes lies," Uhuru said in his Kikuyu dialect.

The president reiterated that Ruto is exercising political conmanship by telling coastal residents he would return port services to Mombasa but when he tours Nakuru county, he takes credit for the construction of the Naivasha Inland Container Depot.

"You come here (Nakuru county) and say we have built the rail line, then you go to Mombasa and say you will return port services," he said.

Uhuru urged Nakuru residents to shun leaders who have embraced double-speak and vote for Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

"Tuwe watu ambao watakuwa wa haki. Wenzangu, ombi langu la kusema kwaheri kwenu, mimi nataka tuendelee kuwa kitu kimoja. Mimi nataka tuwe na uongozi ambao utakuwa wa haki.  Mimi nawauliza kwa heshima kubwa sana, na sio kwa kulazmisha, shikeni huyu mzee mkono jameni."

(Let's be people who are just. I ask you solemnly as I say goodbye that we continue being one, I want us to have a just leadership. I ask you respectfully, kindly support the old man).

Uhuru spoke when commissioned the revitalised 217km Nakuru-Kisumu Meter Gauge Railway (MGR) and the 465km Longonot-Malaba segment as well as the refurbished Nakuru Railway Station.

He urged the electorate to adopt the six-piece voting pattern and vote for Azimio aspirants from the presidency to the member of the county assembly.

"Hata hawa wengine ni wetu lakini inaonekana they need time ya kutulia kuwacha matusi, kuwacha speedy nyingi na kujua ya kwamba kazi na ukweli yashinda matusi na chuki."

(Even these others (Kenya Kwanza) are our people but it looks like they need time to relax. They need to know that work an truth is better than lies and abuses)

Uhuru asked the electorate to vote for Azimio candidates Governor Lee Kinyanjui and Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama whom he said would help Raila advance his policies if he wins the presidency.

"Kwa sababu kama mmekubali kuunga huyu mzee jamani, kama hana wafanyikazi atafanyaje?"

"Senator ako hapa, women rep ako hapa, ma-MCA wote kwa sababu ukiwa na team ambayo haiwezi kufanya kazi pamoja tutaweza kutoboa kweli?  he posed.
