Mt Kenya will get half of Ruto's government – Muturi

He commended the Kiama Kia Ma from Nyeri, Muranga, and Laikipia counties for their solid support for William Ruto's presidential bid.

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi now says that the Mt Kenya region will be allocated 50 per cent share of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance government.

While drumming up support for Deputy President William Ruto, Muturi revealed that the Mt Kenya leaders have a signed agreement with Ruto on how the region will benefit from his leadership, should he be elected into office.

"You have to be up-front from the very beginning about what your expectations of the other person are. We have agreed with our incoming president Dr. William Ruto that Mt Kenya region will receive 50 per cent of the government share," he said.

He commended the Kiama Kia Ma from Nyeri, Muranga, and Laikipia counties for their solid support for William Ruto's presidential bid.

Ruto has been storming Mt Kenya region in a marathon hunt for votes, just like his competitor Raila Odinga.

The latest opinion polls put the DP in a comfortable lead in the vote rich region. The polls have, however, indicated that despite Ruto's lead, Raila has been gaining ground in the region that has not supported him in previous elections.

Ruto has promised that his government will create employment and resuscitate the economy through his bottom up economic model for the benefit of all Kenyans.

His government will also give priority to elderly people when it comes to payment once he wins the polls.

Kenya Kwanza running mate Rigathi Gachagua said that their government will look into the problems facing coffee, tea, rice and horticulture farmers in Mount Kenya region.

He claimed the current government has totally failed to assist the farmers who contribute enormously to the growth of the economy.

Rigathi described Ruto as a competent leader who has the solution to challenges faced by local farmers.
