Agano presidential candidate Mwaure Waihiga and his running mate Ruth Mucheru have asked for donations from Kenyans to fund their campaigns.

Speaking during the launch of their manifesto in Nairobi on Monday, Mucheru called on Kenyans to embrace and support their bid.

"The presidential race attracted over 50 candidates, many of whom are better financially, well-connected than we are, but by God's grace we are one of the four," she said.

"Today, as we launch our manifesto we're not only asking for your votes but also asking you to fund our campaign."

Waihiga said they did not launch their manifesto at Kasarani, KICC or Bomas because of a lack of funds.

"We are at a small venue because that is what we could afford. We are not State-sponsored or funded by taxpayers' money or interest groups with ill intentions."

Speaking during the launch of his manifesto, he pledged to reduce PAYE by 50 per cent and added that his administration would bring to an end the loss of Sh5 billion daily through theft in various government departments and agencies.

"Kenyans lose Sh5 billion to corruption daily. We will give Kenyans 10 days to return 'stolen' money and then form a Money Recovery Commission to trace stolen money," he said.

He is the final presidential candidate to present his blueprint for the country following Deputy President William Ruto and George Wajackoyah who launched theirs last week.
