Azimio la Umoja presidential running mate Martha Karua has said that Kenya is in a dangerous space and it is for this reason that she opted to work with Raila Odinga.

Speaking during a joint interview with TV stations, Karua insisted that the country is in dire need of good leadership, or we risk losing everything built over the years.

"We are in a very dangerous space where we can lose all that we have built. What we need in Kenya today is good leadership that can take Kenya forward. I joined my principal (Raila) to do just that, rescue our nation," she said.

The Narc Kenya party leader added she has worked with the former Prime Minister for more years than they have been on opposing sides.

She particularly noted that they have over the years rooted for social justice and that their teaming up was not for convenience.

"We’ve worked together more than we’ve worked separately... We have more in common than separates us and this is not just for convenience it is for the sake of Kenya," Karua added.

"We've come from the same background, from the trenches fighting for democracy. That doesn't mean you must see everything the same way. In 2005, we were n opposing sides of the banana-orange constitutional change. In 2007, we were again not together but we came together in the national accord, worked well. In 2013, God for us all but shortly after that Narc Kenya was a friend of Cord."

Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga added that he has more in common with Karua, compared to most people he has worked with in and outside government.

"In politics sometimes you disagree on interpretation of issues, that does not make you enemies so long as you have the same beliefs," he said.

Raila and Martha also talked about among other issues; how they will bring down the cost of living and how they will fight corruption.
