This was after he lost Sh4 million from his Karen home in Nairobi.
Gaichuhie and his wife Charity Waithera told police they also lost jewelry valued at Sh500,000.
However, the house help identified as Miriam Mwelu Muinde left behind Sh2 million in the house, in the Wednesday incident.
The couple said they had left Sh6 million in their wardrobe but found Sh4 million missing.
They had left for work on Wednesday morning and on returning later in the day they found Mwelu missing.
Waithera rushed to the wardrobe where Gaichuhie had kept the money and realised the said amount was missing together with the jewelry.
She later went to Hardy police station and made the report before police accompanied her to the house.
Police said there was no breaking into the wardrobe meaning it was open when the house girl accessed it.
The house girl was last traced to Ongata Rongai and Kiserian.
A team of detectives was dispatched to various places including her rural home, friends’ houses and relatives houses but no arrest or recovery had been made.
This is the latest such incident to happen in the area amid calls on residents not to keep money in their houses.
In April 2022, two house helps were arrested and charged with stealing over Sh32 million from their employer in Nairobi's Karen estate.
The two, Ruth Kageha Livole and Violet Engesia Aluse were charged that between April 15 and April 21 this year at Tipuwama Apartment in Karen, they stole three golden rings and a black carrier bag containing 280,000 US dollars, all valued at Sh32,740,600 property of Atog Amos Agok Juac.
They pleaded not guilty and were released on a cash bail of Sh5 million each.
Out of the colossal sum, only Sh3 million was recovered. The two were arrested in Bungoma and Nairobi counties, respectively, after a seven-day search.
The court heard Aluse was arrested in Riruta, Nairobi County and $5,000 (Sh580,000) was found with her. Livole was arrested in Kamukuywa in Bungoma County, where she arrested and found with $25,000 (Sh2.9 million), the court heard.
The two house helps are accused of handling the money, knowing it had been stolen or irregularly obtained.
