Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi will now hit the road to campaign for Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

This comes after campaigns in Meru where Kiraitu's party was left out.

On Thursday, Kiraitu’s allies said the campaign trail did not involve Azimio la Umoja affiliate parties.

They included some Jubilee leaders and aspirants including Igembe North MP Maoka Maore, James Mithika senator aspirant and Mithika Mzalendo (Igembe South Jubilee aspirant).

Athwana MCA Victor Karithi said the move not to campaign or give a chance to Kiraitu’s party aspirant was detrimental.

“Politics is you scratch my back, I scratch yours. Why are they not interested in campaigning for Azimio affiliated MCAs or governors?” Karithi asked.

Kiraitu’s Devolution Empowerment Party director Mutwiri Abuana said Kiraitu will roll out his campaigns.

“It is saddening that there is disunity among the people. Stop revenging the 2017 defeat and respect other leaders,” Abuana said.

“We signed an agreement to fully be and support Azimio la Umoja flag bearer.”

Mithika said they were waiting for Raila to choose his deputy for them to print banners and billboards that have Raila’s image as their presidential candidate.
