•She said in the agreement signed between Kenya Kwanza and PAA, the Governor’s party was not supposed to field candidates in Kilifi.
•PAA supporters from Malindi told Jumwa to respect Kingi as he was not in her league.
Supporters of Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi have fired back at Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa following her claims that Pamoja African Alliance Party is not supposed to field candidates.
They told Jumwa to stop insulting Kingi who joined Kenya Kwanza legitimately to deliver votes the Coast region votes to DP William Ruto-led team.
Earlier this week, Jumwa and Kilifi North MP Owen Baya and other UDA candidates held a press conference in UDA Kilifi headquarters and told Kingi to concentrate on the mandate he was given to coordinate Kenya Kwanza campaigns at the Coast and stop interfering with Kilifi politics as it was a UDA Zone.
She said in the agreement signed between Kenya Kwanza and PAA, the Governor’s party was not supposed to field candidates in Kilifi.
However, in a rejoinder, PAA supporters from Malindi told Jumwa to respect Kingi as he was not in her league.
Addressing a press conference at Market Village in Malindi, Patience Kipusa said they respect Jumwa’s quest to vie for the Kilifi Governor seat but asked her to stop insulting their party leader.
Kipusa who is from Ganda ward said, as women, they were not happy with the way she was doing her campaigns and asked her to sell her policies and people will decide.
“Kingi must be having a vision for the people that’s why he moved from Azimio to Kenya Kwanza,” she said.
She said they fully support their party leader but are campaigning for five PAA candidates and Deputy President William Ruto.
She said they do not fear her and will fight her to the end if she continues to insult Kingi who has done nothing wrong by shifting to a different camp.
Grace Kazungu, a PAA supporter from Malindi town, said they support Kingi because he joined the Kenya Kwanza coalition with his party.
Previously, she said they used to support other parties but ended up getting a raw deal such as that of ODM which ended up nominating MCAs from outside.
“Kingi is the lion. He will roar because he is the lion of Kilifi County. We will react when you insult him,” she said.
She said they will support PAA and do not want her to talk about Kingi negatively as the entire county will turn against her.
Harriet Kavumbi from Shella Ward, who is also a PAA supporter, said Jumwa should join Kingi's party.
She said the governor is experienced having served as MP, Minister, and Governor for two terms, and can propel the flag of the Coast region.
“We are members of PAA and we will campaign for the party,” she said.
