Machakos police raise Sh200,000 fee for poor form one boy

CPC Mohamud and the NPS team promised more support as the student progresses in his studies.

Police officers in Machakos on Wednesday paid school fees for a Form One student whose parent and grandfather could not raise the funds.

On May 4, Simon Muthama Nzioka reported to Machakos Boys' High School without school fees and personal effects.

His sombre mood caught the attention of Machakos OCS who had gone to admit another student.

The OCS established that Muthama had been accompanied by his grandfather who was in no position to raise money for his school fees and other school requirements.

"His unemployed mother, a single parent, could not support him either," the National Police Service said.

The chief officer briefed the County Police Commander Issa Mohamud, who mobilized his NPS team and friends and they were able to raise Sh202,000.

"Today, Muthama was able to smile again when the CPC and his team handed over a bank slip of fees paid totalling the amount contributed," NPS said.

NPS said Muthama was in the company of his grandfather and teachers when he received the slip.

Last week, two students received school funding from NPS in Mbooni and Kisii.

Victoria Ndung'e Musau and Lilian Ikal Losike joined their dream secondary schools after officers mobilized to pay their fees.

Ndung'e joined Muthale Girls' high school in Mbooni Constituency while Ikal went to St. Bridgit Girls, Kiminini.
