Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has suffered a blow in his bid to elbow out his former lover Lilian Ng'ang'a from the ownership of their A&L hotel.
This is after the registrar of companies reversed shares he had allegedly transferred from her.
Ng’ang’a had complained to the registrar of companies that following their separation, the governor had allegedly reallocated some 1800 shares she owned at Ndash enterprises, which own the hotel located in Machakos.
Ng’ang’a’s lawyer Philip Murgor said the registrar found merit in the complaint dated November 11 last year “and has reversed the entry in the company and the fraudulent transfer of the 1800 shares".

Ng’ang’a, however, through her lawyer is asking the DCI to investigate what they term as criminal transfer of the shares.
A letter from the registrar of companies seen by the Star says that its investigation of the saga showed that Ng'ang'a did not consent to the transfer of the shares and that "neither was she aware of the resolutions dated June 10, 2021 [on the transfers]."
"The registrar finds that there is a reason to invoke the provisions of section 862 of the companies Act 2015, and thereby notifies the parties that the impugned changes have been expunged from the register and the ownership of the company restored to the shareholding prior to the changes lodged with the registrar on August 11, 2021," the letter reads.
It is signed by one Ann Kanake, the senior assistant registrar on behalf of the registrar of companies. It is dated May 6.
Further, the former Machakos first lady complains that the governor took away her car and had its ownership details transferred from her.
“Ng’ang’a remains hopeful that the investigations by the DCI into the criminal aspects of the fraudulent transfer of her shares and her motor vehicle can be concluded expeditiously and [the file] forwarded to the DPP for appropriate action,” her lawyer said.
The governor and his former lover hit headlines last year when they both announced through social media that they were parting ways.
Nga'ng'a would shortly announce her love relationship with musician Juliani.
